Your annual review
Your annual review is very important and will be carried out by your diabetes care team. You should think of it as a health MOT that will check all your risk factors and screen you for any possible complications.
As a reminder, key measurements checked at your annual review are:
- Weight
- Blood Pressure
- Blood tests for Glucose (HbA1C), Kidneys (Creatinine/ eGFR)
- Urine tests for protein (ACR)
- Foot Screening
- Eye Screening
The most important thing to remember is that complications can be prevented, and there are a lot of things you can do to stay healthy. Your annual review is a key part of taking care of yourself and ensuring long-term health.
The Diabetes UK website also gives more information on a wider range of conditions that are more common in diabetes.
