Longer-term data

Longer-term data

You can use your phone, handset or Libreview to look at your data over several weeks to give you an idea of how things are going. You will be able to see the information that you will be familiar with such as predicted HbA1c and average glucose.

The predicted HbA1c is not a substitute for the blood tests that your diabetes team organise and will not give exactly the same result but it does give you an idea of how your blood glucose control has changed over time.

In addition, the Libre can tell you about other newer ways of looking at your data. The following is an example of the report that you can see on Libreview. You can get the same information from your phone or handset. The data is easiest to visualise on Libreview or your phone.

How much data should I look at?

The report is best set for 2 weeks of data. In Libreview, 2 weeks is the usual setting for the reports, so you shouldn’t need to change anything. The sensor should have been active more than 70% of the time. In Libreview, the “% Time Sensor is Active” is shown at the top of the Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) report.

Time in range

You can see your time in range on the following devices:

Libreview:

  • Click on “Glucose reports”

Phone:

  • Tap on the “Menu” icon in the top left corner of the home screen to view a list of reports
  • Tap on “Time in Target” to see time in range

Handset:

  • Press the Home Button to turn on the Reader
  • Press the Home Button again to go to the Home Screen
  • Touch the “Review History” icon
  • Use the arrows to view the available options
  • Touch the “Time in Target” option
  • Use the arrow at the bottom of the screen to set the report to 14 days

What does it mean?

Time in range tells you the percentage of time that you spend within your defined target glucose range (usually 3.9 – 10 mmol/L).

What is the goal?

The usual goal is to be in range for more than 70% of the time. This equates to an HbA1c of about 53 mmol/mol. However, for some people, the target is greater than 50%, equating to an HbA1c of about 63 mmol/mol. Your diabetes team can discuss this with you.

Time below range

You can see your time below range on the following devices:

Time below range tells you the percentage of time that you spend with low blood glucose, either less than 3.9mmol/L or less than 3 mmol/L.

What is the goal?

The usual goal is to spend less than 4% of the time lower than 3.9mmol/L and less than 1% of the time lower than 3mmol/L. However, for some people, the goal is only to spend less than 1% of the time lower than 3.9mmol/L. Your diabetes team can discuss this with you.
